DHAKA, Jan 06, 2026 (BSS) - A court here today ordered the attachment of several plots and shops belonging to Sobita Agarwala, wife of Diamond World Managing Director Dilip Kumar Agarwala, over graft allegations.

The attached properties include 0.1147 acres of land in Chuadanga, a 0.325-acre plot and shops under construction at Theme Omar Plaza in Boalia, Rajshahi, and a 239.37 square-foot commercial space in the Siddheswari area of the capital.

Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge Md Sabbir Faiz passed the order, allowing a petition filed by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).

According to the ACC petition, the commission filed a case against accused Sobita Agarwala for acquiring and possessing movable and immovable assets worth Taka 45.70 crore through dishonest means, which are inconsistent with her known sources of income.

The petition also said that unusually large transactions amounting to Taka 213.28 crore were found in eight bank accounts operated in her own name and in the names of institutions linked to her interests. An investigating officer has been appointed to probe the case and submit an investigation report.

During the investigation, a review of records and relevant documents revealed that the accused has been attempting to transfer, relocate or dispose of own and interest-related immovable properties. If such assets are transferred or disposed of before the disposal of the case, there is a risk of irreparable loss, the ACC petition added.
