DHAKA, Jan 14, 2026 (BSS) - Police today arrested two drug dealers with 12 
kilograms of marijuana and recovered Taka 52,820 from his possession in the 
city's Pallabi area. 

The arrested were identified as Marjina Begum, 50, and Yasmin Akter Shanta, 
32, said a press release issued by the media and public relations division of 
Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP).

It said that a team of Pallabi Police Station conducted a raid at Kalshi area 
at about 4:45 this morning and arrested them with the contraband marijuana.

Based on secret information, police carried out the operation and seized Taka 
52,820 from their possession, the release added. 

It said Marjina and Shanta are professional members of drug paddling, who 
have been collecting drugs from different areas of the country for a long 
time and selling those in various parts of the capital.

A case was filed with Pallabi Police Station under Narcotics Control Act 
against the arrested persons.
