Minu hopes BNP to win all seats in Rajshahi division

RAJSHAHI, Jan 14, 2026 (BSS)- Mijanur Rahman Minu, who is contesting for Rajshahi-2 constituency, has  asserted that his party  BNP will win in all 39 seats in the upcoming 13th parliamentary election in Rajshahi division.

He said this while addressing a doa mahfil seeking eternal peace for the departed soul of former three-time Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia held at a community centre here today.

.Mijanur Rahman Minu said BNP attained victory in 38 seats in 1996, while 38 in 2001.

Former Mayor of Rajshahi City Corporation and former MP Minu said the contributions of Deshnetri Begum Khaleda Zia, also the former chairperson of Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), to the struggle for restoring democracy and establishing human rights in the country will be remembered in history forever.

He said the nation has lost an important political guardian with the death of Begum Khaleda Zia, saying he is deeply saddened and shocked by her demise.
 
Minu termed her demise as the departure of a legend in the history of Bangladesh, adding that the void created by her passing would never be filled.
 
Today's gathering was to pray for the repose of her soul and prayed that the Almighty Allah grant her Jannatul  Firdous.
