EC, administration must ensure absolute neutrality: Helal

KHULNA, Jan 17, 2026 (BSS) - BNP Central Executive Committee Information Affairs Secretary and Khulna-4 constituency candidate Azizul Bari Helal said the Election Commission (EC) and the administration must ensure absolute neutrality in the upcoming national election.

Helal made the remarks while speaking as the chief guest at the final match and prize distribution ceremony of Khan Alamgir Kabir Memorial Football Tournament on Friday afternoon. 

Addressing a discussion meeting on the occasion, he said all concerned officials of the administration must perform their duties with complete impartiality to ensure a credible and acceptable election.

Helal further said public support for the BNP's electoral symbol, the 'Sheaf of Paddy', is growing across the country. "Not only in Rupsha, Terokhada or Dighalia, but everywhere people are awakening in support of the Sheaf of Paddy," he added.

Later, Helal distributed trophies among the champion and runners-up teams of the tournament.

Special prayers were also offered seeking eternal peace of former prime minister and BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia.
