DHAKA, Jan 19, 2026 (BSS) - A court here today granted a three-day remand to Billal, 29, an accused in the murder case of Azizur Rahman Musabbir, former general secretary of Dhaka City North Swechasebak Dal, for the second time.

At the same time, the court ordered that two other accused - Abdul Kadir, 28 and Riaz, 31 - be sent to jail after completion of their remand period.

Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Awlat Hossain Mohammad Zunaid passed the order when the three accused were produced before the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate's Court following seven days of remand.

Sub-Inspector Arifur Rahman of Tejgaon Police Station confirmed the matter to BSS.

Earlier, on January 12, the court had granted a seven-day remand to Billal, Abdul Kadir and Riaz after another accused, Jinnat, gave a confessional statement.

Azizur Rahman Musabbir, 45, was shot dead by miscreants on January 7 at Tejturi Bazar in the capital, on a street behind Star Kabab.

Following the incident, Musabbir's wife Suraiya Begum filed a murder case with Tejgaon Police Station against four to five unidentified accused.
