46 arrested under Operation Devil Hunt Phase-2 in Dhaka

DHAKA, Jan 21, 2026 (BSS) - Police have arrested 46 people in the last 24 hours during Operation Devil Hunt Phase-2, conducted across six police station areas in the capital—Mugda, Jatrabari, Kalabagan, Sher-e-Bangla Nagar, Rupnagar and Demra.

Deputy Police Commissioner Media and Public Relations Division, Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP), Muhammad Talebur Rahman confirmed the arrests.

According to DMP, a day-long coordinated drives were carried out on Tuesday in various crime-prone areas to curb criminal activities and ensure public safety.

Mugda Police arrested the highest number with 18 individuals detained. 
Jatrabari police arrested 12 people, while Rupnagar police arrested six. 

Sher-e-Bangla Nagar and Demra police arrested four people each, and Kalabagan police  arrested two individuals. Police sources said the arrestees were involved in various criminal activities. 

Following their arrest, all suspects were produced before the court in accordance with legal procedures.

Operation Devil Hunt Phase-2 is a part of DMP’s ongoing efforts to maintain law and order and strengthen security across the capital.
