DMP arrests 35 under Operation Devil Hunt Phase-2

DHAKA, Jan 31, 2026 (BSS) - The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested 35 people in the capital over the last 24 hours as part of Operation Devil Hunt Phase-2, following coordinated, day-long drives across multiple crime-prone areas. 

Deputy Police Commissioner, Media and Public Relations Division, DMP, Muhammad Talebur Rahman confirmed the arrest. 

According to DMP sources, the arrests were made by 11 police stations. Shahbagh Police Station recorded the highest number with 14 arrests, followed by Khilgaon and Jatrabari with four each. 

Hazaribagh and Sher-e-Bangla Nagar arrested three persons each, Lalbagh arrested two, while Kotwali, Demra, Sutrapur, Mohammadpur and Badda police stations each arrested one person.

The operation covered Kotwali, Lalbagh, Demra, Sutrapur, Mohammadpur, Khilgaon, Hazaribagh, Badda, Jatrabari, Sher-e-Bangla Nagar and Shahbagh areas. 

Those detained include individuals aged between 19 and 63 years.

Police said all the arrested persons have been produced before the court for legal proceedings.
