
KHULNA, Feb 5, 2026 (BSS) – Chief Information Officer of the Department of Information Md Nizamul Kabir expressed hope that voters would play an important role in building a new Bangladesh through the upcoming election scheduled for February 12.
“The upcoming election is highly significant as many new and women voters, who could not cast their votes previously, will be able to exercise their voting rights in a festive atmosphere,” he said.
He made the remarks at a discussion meeting at Guptamari village under Jalma Union of Batiaghata Upazila in Khulna district this morning, aimed at motivating voters ahead of the 13th National Parliamentary Election and referendum.
The meeting was organized by the Khulna Regional Information Office.
He added that the active participation of all would make it easier to hold a fair and credible parliamentary election. He urged voters to ensure the maximum participation of their family members and neighbors on election day.
Other speakers said that a citizen’s greatest strength during an election is their vote. Through correct decisions and the proper use of voting rights, citizens can help reshape the structure of the state. They said the upcoming election offers a golden opportunity to reflect public aspirations and called upon all to encourage family members and neighbors to vote.
The meeting was chaired by Deputy Chief Information Officer of the Khulna Regional Information Office ASM Kabir. Former Principal of Azam Khan Commerce College Md Lutfor Rahman Prodhan, Senior Information Officer Md Mehedi Hasan, Information Officer Sharmin Akhter Ruma, Assistant Information Officers Md Ramjan Ali and Fatema Tuz Johra, Assistant Information Officer of the District Information Office Tarun Kumar Mondal, Head Teacher of Guptamari Government Primary School Prabhas Chandra Gain, and former Head Teacher Pradyut Kumar Ray, among others, spoke at the event.
Local male and female voters participated in the discussion. At the end of the programme, an election-related video was screened to further motivate voters.
