KHULNA, Jan 26, 2026 (BSS) - BNP nominee for the Khulna-2 constituency and former MP Nazrul Islam Manju today said he aims to transform Khulna into a modern city through planned development and people-oriented initiatives.

He said steps would be taken to develop the city with a clean and pleasant environment and to turn it into an industrial hub.

Emphasizing youth development, he added that young people would be trained through various skill development programmes with ensured employment opportunities.

Nazrul Islam Manju made the remarks while carrying out mass contact and distributing leaflets in several areas of the city, including Greenland Slum under Ward No. 21 and the No. 7 Ghat area, on Monday.

He said the upcoming election holds special significance, noting that after the July uprising, a fascism-free Bangladesh has entered a new phase, raising public expectations from the polls.

"We will work with the dream of building a beautiful Bangladesh," he said.

Manju also stressed the need for collective efforts to make Khulna free from terrorism and drugs, adding that corruption must be eliminated from society to ensure sustainable development.

Leaders and activists of BNP and its associate bodies and local residents were present.
