BNP, Jamaat candidates to cast votes at respective centres in Khulna

KHULNA, Feb 10, 2026 (BSS) - A keen electoral contest is expected between the candidates of the BNP and Jamaat-e-Islami in Khulna’s six parliamentary constituencies in the 13th Jatiya Sangsad elections.

Most of the rival candidates will cast their votes at their respective polling centres, while a few, being voters of other constituencies, will vote outside their electoral areas and later visit their constituencies to observe the polls.
The information was gathered after talking to BNP and Jamaat candidates this afternoon.  

In Khulna-1 (Dacope-Batiaghata) constituency, BNP candidate Amir Ejaz Khan will cast his vote at 7.30am at Kharabad Baintala Government Primary School in Batiaghata upazila. 

His rival Jamaat candidate Krishna Nandi is not a voter of this constituency and will vote at 7.30am at Chuknagar Dibyapalli Secondary School centre under Khulna-5 constituency.

In Khulna-2 (Sadar-Sonadanga), BNP candidate Nazrul Islam Manju, contesting with the Sheaf of Paddy symbol, will cast his vote between 7.30am and 8.00am at Tutpara Model Government Primary School. 

His rival, Advocate Sheikh Jahangir Hossain Helal of Jamaat, contesting with the scale symbol, will vote at 7:30am at Motiyakhali Government Primary School centre.

In Khulna-3 (Khalishpur-Daulatpur-Arangghata), BNP candidate Rakibul Islam Bakul will cast his vote at Khalispur National School. Jamaat candidate Mohammad Mahfuzur Rahman will cast vote at 8am at the temporary campus polling centre of the Agriculture University under Daulatpur police station.

In Khulna-4 (Rupsha-Terokhada-Dighalia), BNP candidate SK Azizul Bari Helal will cast his vote at 7:30am at Saburunnasa Women’s College in Aichgati of Rupsha upazila. His rival candidate from Khelafat Majlish, Md Sakawat Hossain, will vote at 8am at Kajdia Government Primary School centre in Rupsha.

In Khulna-5 (Dumuria-Phultala), Jamaat candidate Mia Golam Parwar, contesting with the Scale symbol, will cast his vote at 7.30am at Shiromoni Pashchimpara Government Primary School in Khan Jahan Ali area. BNP heavyweight candidate Ali Asgar Lobi is a voter of Khulna-2 constituency and said he would cast his vote there before heading to his electoral area.

In Khulna-6 (Koyra-Paikgachha), Jamaat candidate Md Abul Kalam Azad will cast his vote at 7:30am at Gariabari Government Primary School centre in Koyra upazila. 

His rival BNP candidate Monirul Hasan Bappi is a voter of Khulna-4 constituency and said he would not be able to cast his vote this time due to the distance from his electoral area.
