DHAKA, Feb 13, 2026 (BSS) - Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) today organised doa mahfil programmes at mosques across the country instead of arranging victory rallies and processions following its landslide win in the 13th national parliamentary election.

After Jummah prayers, special prayers were offered at mosques nationwide seeking eternal peace for the departed soul of former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia and conveying good wishes for the country and its people.

Leaders, activists and supporters of the party joined the prayers in different districts, while people of other faiths offered prayers at temples, churches, pagodas and other places of worship across the country.

The programme was announced yesterday by BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi.

In a press release, he extended heartfelt greetings and congratulations to the country's people, including residents of Dhaka metropolis, for electing the BNP with a massive mandate.

He said that, to mark the occasion, doa mahfils would be held at mosques across the country after Jummah prayers on Friday, seeking salvation for Khaleda Zia and praying for the continued well-being of the nation and its citizens.
