DHAKA, Feb 13, 2026 (BSS) - BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir today greeted party Chairman Tarique Rahman with flowers following the party's two-thirds majority victory in the 13th Jatiya Sangsad elections.

The exchange of greetings took place at around 5:30 pm at the BNP Chairperson's political office in Gulshan this afternoon.

During the meeting, BNP Standing Committee Member Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury and Coordinator of the BNP Election Committee Ismail Jabi Ullah were also present.

Mirza Fakhrul presented a bouquet to the party chairman and congratulated him on the electoral victory, praising his leadership role in securing the mandate. In response, Tarique Rahman also extended congratulations to the BNP Secretary General.

The two leaders later held discussions for some time, reviewing the election results across the country and exchanging views on various related issues.

Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir was elected from the Thakurgaon-1 constituency in the polls and returned to Dhaka today following his victory.
