NARSINGDI, Feb 13, 2026 (BSS) - Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) standing committee member and newly elected MP from Narsingdi-2, Dr. Abdul Moyeen Khan today said the people of Bangladesh have always taken the right decisions during times of political crisis and steered the nation back on track.

"Over the past 55 years, whenever a political crisis has emerged, the people of this country have chosen the correct path and brought the nation back to a healthy course," he said, crediting the citizens for safeguarding democracy.

Dr Abdul Moyeen Khan made the remarks after visiting his father's grave at his residence in Charangardi under Palash upazila, following his victory by a large margin in the 13th national election.

Talking to journalists today while reviewing the latest political situation in the country, he described himself as a servant of the people.

Responding to a question, Dr Khan said the foundation of Bangladesh's democratic journey was laid through the liberation war. "The core objectives of the liberation war were the establishment of democracy and economic development".
