DHAKA, Feb 13, 2026 (BSS) – Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Standing Committee Member Salahuddin Ahmed today said the party has begun preparations to run the country following its landslide victory in the 13th national parliamentary election.
“We are not describing it merely as a victory; rather, we see it as a reflection of the people’s confidence on us. BNP will certainly fulfill the expectations of the people,” he said.
Salahuddin made the remarks after a meeting held at the BNP Chairman’s political office in Gulshan tonight.
BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman was accorded a warm reception by party leaders, activists and newly elected Members of Parliament there.
Salahuddin said the meeting, attended by members of the party’s Standing Committee, discussed in detail the roadmap for running the country.
The BNP leader said the party would uphold political decorum to ensure a strong and effective opposition in parliament.
“Our goal is to establish an accountable parliament by ensuring a level playing field,” he added.
Salahuddin further said that after forming the government, BNP would maintain cordial relations with all countries and pursue a balanced foreign policy.
