Govt relieves Biman chairman SK Bashir

DHAKA, Feb 18, 2026 (BSS) – The government has relieved Sheikh Bashir Uddin from the post of Chairman of Biman Bangladesh Airlines following his resignation, according to an official notification issued by the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism.

A gazette notification issued today by the Biman-1 branch of the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism said Sheikh Bashir Uddin has been released from his responsibilities as Chairman of the Board of Directors of Biman Bangladesh Airlines.

Earlier on Monday (February 16), the then adviser of civil aviation and tourism ministry Sheikh Bashir Uddin submitted his resignation from the post of Chairman of the national flag carrier. 

Sheikh Bashir Uddin had been appointed Chairman of the state-owned airline through a government notification issued on August 26 last year.
