French Ambassador holds courtesy meeting with CTTC chief, discusses counter-terrorism cooperation

DHAKA, Feb 18, 2026 (BSS) - Ambassador of France to Bangladesh Marie Masdupuy has paid a courtesy call on Md. Masud Karim, Additional Police Commissioner of the Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) unit of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP).

The meeting was held on Tuesday at the CTTC office, where both sides discussed Bangladesh-France relations and explored avenues for strengthening mutual cooperation, particularly in the field of counter-terrorism and transnational crime prevention.

Following the courtesy call, Ambassador Masdupuy visited several specialized units of the CTTC, including the SWAT Team, Bomb Disposal Team, Bomb Data Center and the Dog Squad. 

She expressed appreciation for the professional capabilities, advanced technical measures, and operational readiness of the units in addressing security challenges.

During the meeting, a special exchange of views took place between the Ambassador and Additional Police Commissioner Masud Karim regarding CTTC's ongoing initiatives to prevent international terrorism and violent extremism. 

Discussions also focused on enhancing collaboration in technology-based policing, intelligence sharing, and capacity-building support.

Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral cooperation to promote regional and global security.
