11-day art exhibition portraying burning of Prothom Alo begins

DHAKA, Feb 18, 2026 (BSS) - An 11-day art exhibition titled 'Alo' began today at the Prothoma Prokashon Bhaban of Prothom Alo in the capital.

The exhibition depicts the attack carried out on Prothom Alo on December 18 last year and commemorates Shaheed Sharif Osman Hadi, who died following the incident.

Designed by artist Mahbubur Rahman, the exhibition was inaugurated at 11:00am. Leaders of various journalist unions and editors of different media houses were present at the opening ceremony.

Visitors will be able to explore the exhibition daily from 4:00pm, and it will continue until 5:00pm on February 28.

The exhibition features a compilation of burnt structures, bookshelves, books and other items damaged in the fire set by miscreants on December 18.

Coordinator of the exhibition and Executive Editor of Prothom Alo, Sazzad Sharif, expressed hope that the newly elected government would take strong measures against those responsible and ensure the freedom of the media.
