3 MPs to meet PM for Feni development: VP Joynal

FENI, Feb 23, 2026 (BSS) - Lawmaker from Feni-2 constituency Professor Joynal 
Abdin, popularly known as VP Joynal, today said three lawmakers elected from 
Feni district will meet Prime Minister Tarique Rahman to ensure development 
in the district. 

"With the support of former Prime Minister late Begum Khaleda Zia, we have 
achieved massive development in Feni from 2001 to 2006. Many developments, 
including upgrading Feni Modern Sadar Hospital from 100 beds to 250 beds, 
establishing Feni Computer Institute, Feni Girls Cadet College, took place," 
he said.

"I hope Prime Minister Tarique Rahman will not turn us away from his promise 
for the unfinished development of the district," the lawmaker said, 
mentioning, "I along with other two lawmakers-- Munshi Rafiqul Alam and Abdul 
Awal Mintoo-- from Feni will meet him together and inform him of his mother's 
promise." 

"We will present our demands to him, including the establishment of a medical 
college, a public university in Feni and necessary measures to control 
floods," he told a meeting of the district law and order committee at Feni 
Deputy Commissioner's Office conference room this afternoon.
 
Chaired by Deputy Commissioner and District Magistrate Monira Haque, 
Additional District Magistrate Md Zakaria presented a brief on law and order 
situation in the district through a power-point presentation. 

Lawmaker of Feni-1 constituency Rafiqul Alam Majnu, Additional Superintendent 
of Police Mohammad Saiful Islam, Civil Surgeon Dr Rubaiyat Bin Karim, 
President of Feni Reporters Unity Mohammad Shahadat Hossain, Member Secretary 
of NCP Shah Wali Ullah Manik, General Secretary of Islami Andolan Maulana 
Ekramul Haque and Joint Secretary of Khilafat Majlis Aziz Ullah Ahmadi also 
spoke, among others.
