
DHAKA, Feb 23, 2026 (BSS) – Chattogram Hill Tracts Affairs Minister Dipen Dewan today directed the authorities concerned to strengthen law and order and administrative activities in the hill areas during the Ramadan.
Speaking from his office at Bangladesh Secretariat here, he held telephone conversations with the Deputy Commissioners and Superintendents of Police of Rangamati, Khagrachhari and Bandarban districts.
The minister emphasized on controlling of market prices at the local level, conducting regular mobile courts, ensuring proper use of electricity and fuel and strictly enforcing a “zero tolerance” policy in maintaining law and order.
He instructed that sensitive land-related issues must be resolved prudently in accordance with existing laws and regulations. He also called for strict legal action against corrupt individuals and land grabbers.
He directed the Bandarban district administration to remain highly vigilant to ensure the successful distribution of government family cards starting from Lama.
The Minister also laid importance on uninterrupted electricity supply to the health centers, maximizing tree plantation efforts in the CHT as part of the nationwide afforestation program, promoting environmental friendly eco-tourism in all three districts and prioritizing education, health, water and youth development under the government’s 180-day action plan.
