DINAJPUR, Feb 26, 2026 (BSS) - Syed Jahangir Alam, Member of Parliament (MP) from Dinajpur Sadar constituency, today said that people of all religions in Bangladesh will practice their faiths freely and live with dignity.

He asserted that no one could impede their right to establish themselves in society, urging that no group should fear retribution in this pursuit.

Jahangir Alam made these remarks as the chief guest at the closing ceremony of the birth anniversary celebrations of Sri Ramakrishna Dev, held on Thursday afternoon at the Uttar Gopalpur Durga-Shiv Temple in Dinajpur Sadar Upazila.

In his speech, Syed Jahangir Alam reiterated that the nation is on a path toward democracy and progress, under the leadership of BNP Chairman and Prime Minister Tarique Rahman.

He further called on everyone—regardless of religion, caste, or political affiliation—to cooperate in maintaining this positive environment for the future.

Ajit Adhikari, President of the Uttar Gopalpur Puja Committee, chaired the ceremony. Shrimat Swami Bibhatmananda Maharaj, Principal of Dinajpur Ramakrishna Ashram, shared the teachings of Sri Ramakrishna Paramahamsadev, stressing the importance of focusing on devotion while embracing the spirit of humanity over religious divisions.
