DMP files 1,338 cases against traffic rules violations

DHAKA, Mar 05, 2026 (BSS) – Dhaka Metropolitan Police's (DMP) Traffic Division has filed a total of 1,338 cases against vehicles, owners and its drivers for violating traffic rules.

The DMP traffic police dumped 431 motor vehicles and towed 253 vehicles during the campaign against traffic rule violations on March 4, according to a press release issued today.
 
The release further said that campaign against traffic violators will continue to ensure discipline on Dhaka's streets.

It said Ramna division filed 101 cases, Lalbagh division registered 88 cases, Motijheel traffic division filed 106 cases, Wari division registered 185 cases, Tejgaon division filed 155 cases, Mirpur division filed 182 cases, Uttara division registered 289 cases and Gulshan division filed 232 cases against motor vehicles as well as three wheelers and motorcycles, it said.
