2 rickshaw pullers killed in Rajshahi road accident

RAJSHAHI, March 5, 2026 (BSS) – Two rickshaw pullers were killed after being hit by a bus at the Chouddapai Fire Service intersection in Rajshahi city.

The deceased were identified as Mohab Ali, 62, and Masum Ahmed, 40, both residents of Charghat upazila.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) Abul Kalam Azad of Motihar Police Station said a bus of Ekota Transport was traveling from Dhaka to Rajshahi when it lost control at the Chouddapai intersection and collided with the rickshaw, leaving the two men seriously injured.

Fire service personnel rescued the victims and rushed them to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital. Mohab Ali died shortly after arrival, while Masum Ahmed succumbed around 2:30 am.

The OC added that the bus has been seized and the driver detained. A case has been filed in connection with the incident.
