Six sound grenades recovered near SC main gate, deactivated by CTTC

DHAKA, Mar 08, 2026 (BSS) – The Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) unit of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) successfully deactivated six sound grenades recovered earlier from inside the boundary near the main gate of the Supreme Court (SC).

The bomb disposal team of CTTC defused the grenades at Suhrawardi Udyan this afternoon, a DMP release said.

According to Shahbagh Police Station sources, at around 12:30 pm, High Court cleaning staff spotted six unexploded sound grenades lying abandoned inside the SC boundary near the right side of the main gate.

They immediately informed Shahbagh Police Station, and the police team promptly arrived at the scene and recovered the grenades.
