DHAKA, March 11, 2026 (BSS) - A Dhaka court today imposed a travel ban on Farhad Hossain, former principal of Monipur High School and College in Dhaka's Mirpur, and his wife Anjuman Ara Khatun.

Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge Md Sabbir Faiz passed the order after holding a hearing on a plea filed by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).

According to the petition, allegations against Md Farhad Hossain and others regarding the embezzlement of approximately Taka 200 crore from a development project of the institution, acquisition of illegal assets, and evasion of government revenue are currently under investigation.

Reliable sources suggest that the accused Md Farhad Hossain and his wife Anjuman Ara Khatun may leave the country and flee abroad, which could hinder the ongoing investigation.

Therefore, in the interest of a fair and proper investigation into the allegations, it has become essential to impose a travel ban on them, the ACC plea added.

Meanwhile, the same court also imposed a travel ban on National Board of Revenue (NBR) Additional Commissioner (currently attached as Special Officer on Duty) Sadhan Kumar Kundu, over graft allegations.
