Ansar member killed in Cumilla road crash

CUMILLA, Mar 16, 2026 (BSS) - An Ansar member has been killed in a road accident in Madhya Bazar area on the Gani Road under Burichang upazila of the district.

The deceased was identified as Shah Alam Bhuiyan, 55, son of late Shabar Ali Bhuiyan, a resident of Dakshin Shyampur village under Pirjatrapur union of the same upazila. 

The accident took place on Sunday evening when a mixer truck of Roads and Highways Department hit him, leaving him critically injured.

Local people rescued him and immediately took him to Cumilla Medical College Hospital for treatment. However, he succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment at the hospital.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Burichang Police Station Lutfur Rahman confirmed the matter.
