
BANDARBAN, March 23, 2026 (BSS) - The Eid holidays have once again turned the serene hill district of Bandarban into a vibrant hub of travel, joy and celebration, as thousands of tourists from across the country flock to experience its misty mountains and breathtaking landscapes.
Blending festive cheer with the call of nature, the long holiday break has brought an overwhelming surge of visitors, transforming the usually tranquil hills into a lively mosaic of movement, colour and excitement.
From the early hours of the day, streams of holidaymakers have been heading toward popular destinations such as Nilgiri, Nilachal and Shailaprapat, where clouds drift across emerald-green hills and panoramic views stretch endlessly into the horizon. Families, friends and solo travellers alike are seen immersing themselves in the natural charm of the region, capturing memories and enjoying moments of leisure.
Adventure activities have added to the festive atmosphere, with tourists enjoying zip-line rides between hills, kayaking in scenic waters and trekking across winding trails, while many others are busy taking photographs against the backdrop of rolling hills and floating clouds.
Visitors have expressed deep admiration for the region's beauty.

Aindrila Biswas, visiting Nilachal Tourist Centre, said, "The natural beauty of Bandarban is truly breathtaking. It feels as if the hills are embracing you. Surrounded by mountains on all sides, the view is simply mesmerizing."
Saiful Islam, who travelled from Dhaka, said, "You cannot truly understand the natural richness of Bangladesh without visiting the area. Every corner offers something extraordinary to see."
Officials at tourist sites reported a steady rise in visitor numbers throughout the day. Sukumaar Tanchangya, manager of the ticket counter at Meghla Parjatan Complex, said the flow of tourists increased significantly in the afternoon. "Around 700 tickets were sold by 4pm, and the crowd usually peaks in the evening," he noted.
The hospitality sector is also experiencing a busy season, with hotels and resorts operating at full capacity. According to local officials, most accommodations were booked in advance ahead of the holiday rush.
Sirajul Islam, president of the Bandarban Residential Hotel and Resort Owners Association, said all hotels and resorts in the district are fully booked due to the government holiday period, creating additional pressure from the influx of tourists.
To ensure visitor safety, the district administration and law enforcement agencies have intensified monitoring and security measures across key tourist spots.
Mohammad Farid Uddin, inspector of Bandarban Tourist Police, said, "We are on duty round the clock to ensure the safety of tourists.
The overall law and order situation remains normal. Plainclothes officers are also patrolling tourist areas."
Reports of heavy tourist presence have also been received from various attractions across all seven upazilas of Bandarban, reflecting the widespread appeal of the district during the Eid holidays.
With the steady influx of visitors, Bandarban has once again come alive, its natural beauty complemented by festive energy and economic activity. Local businesses are witnessing a positive boost as tourism flourishes across the region.
Officials hope that this continued trend of domestic tourism will further strengthen the country's tourism industry in the coming years.
