DHAKA, Mar 24, 2026 (BSS) - A Dhaka court today placed Md. Abdus Salam on a four-day remand in a case filed over allegations of impersonating the Prime Minister's personal assistant (PA) to commit fraudulent activities.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Aminul Islam Junayed passed the order after hearing the matter.

Police had arrested the accused on March 15 from the Panir Tanki area in Agargaon and sought a five-day remand the following day. The court set today for the hearing on the matter.

According to the case, Abdus Salam had long been posing as the Prime Minister's personal assistant. Using this false identity, he allegedly conducted illegal financial transactions, engaged in recruitment fraud in various government and private offices, and carried out other deceptive activities targeting the general public.

Upon verification of the allegations and supporting evidence, a team of intelligence officers arrested him. On the same day, a case was registered against him at Sher-e-Bangla Nagar Police Station.
