DHAKA, April 3, 2026 (BSS) - The Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) unit has taken a minor into custody from Habiganj sadar area on April 2.

"Acting on a tip-off, an operation team of CTTC conducted the raid and took the minor into custody at around 2.30 pm on April 2. The minor is reportedly linked to Ahsan Zahir Khan, Daniel Islam Hasan, and Russel alias Palash alias Abu Bacher Al Faruki, who are named accused in an anti-terrorism case filed with the city's Sher-e-Bangla Nagar Police Station," a Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) release said here today.

According to CTTC sources, the detained child was highly active online, maintained contacts, shared extremist posts of IS, and helped recruit members for the group. 

Additionally, he reportedly shared PDF files on bomb-making and, through close associates, incited and planned attacks on Shia mosques, police checkpoints, and ISKCON temples , the DMP release added.
