PM's commitment to creating 'rainbow nation' reflected in Bangla Nababarsha arrangements: Helal

CHATTOGRAM, April 14, 2026 (BSS) - Land and Hill Tracts Affairs State Minister Mir Mohammad Helal Uddin today said the arrangements to mark the Bangla Nababarsha 1433 reflects Prime Minister Tarique Rahman's vision of creating a 'rainbow nation'.

He said the events truly reflect the spirit of unity and diversity by bringing together people from various backgrounds, religions, castes and tribes.
 
Speaking as the chief guest at the Bengali New Year celebration at the historic DC Hill premises in Chattogram, the State Minister praised the inclusive and harmonious environment created through the participation of individuals from all walks of life.

He noted the significance of fostering an artistic and cultural atmosphere through such gatherings, stressing the beauty that emerges when events are more than just formalities.
 
Acknowledging the collective efforts of both the front and backstage teams, he expressed gratitude for the successful event, emphasizing the significance of showcasing Bengali tradition and culture through various activities such as rallies, recitations, dances and music. 

He extended warm wishes to the people of Chattogram on the occasion of the Bengali New Year, emphasizing the potential for a developed and progressive Bangladesh by embracing this spirit.
 
The event was chaired by Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Zahidul Islam Miah, with Mohammad Abu Sufian, MP, Chattogram Divisional Commissioner Dr. Md. Ziauddin, Metropolitan Police Commissioner Hasan Md. Shawkat Ali, and others delivering greetings for the New Year.
 
State Minister for Land Mir Helal graced the Bengali New Year reception at the Shirishtala of CRB in Chittagong as the chief guest. Later, he also participated in another Boishaki Program held at CRB Sheristala area this noon
