DMP files 1,947 cases for traffic rules violation

DHAKA, April 23, 2026 (BSS) – The Traffic Division of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has filed 1,947 cases for violating traffic rules in different parts of the capital.

Deputy Commissioner (Media and Public Relations Division) of DMP NM Nasiruddin said that the DMP traffic division conducted campaign against traffic breakers during the last 24 hours and filed the cases.

He said that the DMP traffic police dumped 440 motor vehicles and towed 263 vehicles during the campaign against traffic rule violations on April 22.

During the drives, DMP filed 133 cases under Ramna zone, 232 cases under Lalbagh zone, 447 cases under Motijheel zone and 189 cases under Wari zone, 235 cases under Tejgaon zone, 373 cases under Mirpur zone, 141 cases under Uttara zone, 197 cases under Gulshan zone.

The DMP’s Traffic Division has vowed to continue drives to maintain discipline on Dhaka’s roads.
