DHAKA, April 23, 2026 (BSS) - Prime Minister Tarique Rahman today congratulated the Bangladesh national cricket team for winning a three-match one day international (ODI) series against New Zealand by 2-1.

"The premier warmly greeted the players of the national cricket team following Bangladesh's 55-run win over New Zealand in the last ODI match held at Bir Shrestha Shaheed Flight Lieutenant Matiur Rahman Stadium in Chattogram today," Prime Minister's Press Secretary AAM Saleh Shibly told BSS tonight.

Bangladesh cricket team won two ODI series in two months, the Prime Minister said, noting that last month, the Tigers defeated Pakistan 2-1 in a three-match ODI series.

After Pakistan, Tarique Rahman said, Bangladesh also defeated New Zealand in a three-match ODI series at home by the same margin.

"With patriotism, courage and honesty, the victory will continue, InshaAllah," the premier added.
