Professor Dr. Md. Badiul Islam, Head of the CME Department, said, "At one
time, due to a shortage of skilled engineers in the ceramic and metallurgy
industry, the country's industrial sector could not achieve the desired
progress."
Since the establishment of our department, skilled engineers have been
graduating every year who are making significant contributions to the
country's economy.
He added, "We had to travel a long way to reach this stage. Teachers,
students, alumni, and various institutions and companies have supported us in
many ways throughout this journey. I express my sincere gratitude to all of
them."
Currently, the department is moving forward with a total of 19 teachers,
including 3 professors, 10 laboratories equipped with modern instruments, and
air-conditioned classrooms with up-to-date technology.
In its 16 years since establishment, the department has produced hundreds of
engineers who are contributing not only nationally but also on a global
scale.
Students are successfully completing their studies and contributing to the
country's industrial sector and economy.
With modernization, the demand for the ceramic industry is increasing.
From household utensils to construction, electronics, medical science, and
aerospace - the use of ceramics is expanding in every field.
With the aim of producing skilled ceramic engineers to meet this demand, the
Department of Ceramic and Metallurgical Engineering was established at RUET
on April 23, 2010.
