DHAKA, April 24, 2026 (BSS) - Police have arrested two drug dealers with 42 kilograms (kgs) of marijuana from Khilkheet area in the capital.  

The arrestees were identified as Faysal Mia alias Faysal (41) and Md Yunus Mia (52), according to a press release issued by the media and public relations division of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) here today.

The release said that police sent them before the court as part of legal procedure.

It said that a detective branch (DB) of police under Motijheel division conducted a raid at a place adjacent to the 300 feet road under Khilkheet Police Station at about 5:20pm yesterday and arrested them with 42 kg of marijuana.

The release said police conducted the operation based on confidential information and seized a private car and three mobile phone sets from their possession. 

It said Faysal and Yunus are professional members of drug peddling, who have been collecting drugs from various border areas of the country for a long time and selling those in different areas of the capital.

A case was filed against them with Khilkheet Police Station under Narcotics Control Act.
