DHAKA, May 03, 2026 (BSS) – The Supreme Court has suspended virtual court proceedings at its Appellate Division, including the Chamber Courts, until further notice.

“Upon instruction on the above matter, it is hereby informed that the virtual court proceedings of the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court of Bangladesh (including the Chamber Court), held on every Wednesday and Thursday, have been suspended until further notice,” said a notification signed by Appellate Division Registrar Ashiqul Khabir.

The Supreme Court started holding virtual proceedings in both its Appellate and High Court Divisions on Wednesdays and Thursdays from April 22.

An earlier notification, signed by Supreme Court Registrar General Mohammad Habibur Rahman Siddiquee, said the decision was taken considering the current global energy situation, in line with the Information and Communication Technology Use in Courts Act, 2020 (Act No. 11 of 2020), and the practice directions issued by the Supreme Court.
