CHATTOGRAM, May 8, 2026 (BSS) - Md. Masud Alam has taken charge as the new Superintendent of Police (SP) of Chattogram district with a commitment to maintain law and order and implement a 'zero tolerance' policy against crimes. 

The newly appointed SP was welcomed with a guard of honour at the Chattogram District Police Lines, where senior officials congratulated him. 

Prior to this role, Md. Masud Alam served as the Deputy Police Commissioner (DC) of Ramna Division in Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP). 

He emphasized the importance of citizen cooperation in his new position and held a meeting with officers from various units of the district, including OCs of police stations, traffic division, Detective Branch (DB), Special Branch (DSB) and court police officers. 

During the meeting, he stressed the need for coordinated efforts to provide people-friendly police services and instructed the officers to work as a cohesive team under the banner of ‘Team Chattogram’.
