UNDP delegation calls on IGP

DHAKA, June 08, 2026 (BSS)- A five-member delegation led by outgoing UNDP Resident Representative Stefan Liller paid a courtesy call on Inspector General of Police (IGP) Ali Hossain Fakir at the Police Headquarters here today.

During the meeting, various issues related to the reform of Bangladesh Police, community policing, human rights, and the mental health of police personnel were discussed. 

Liller expressed interest in providing training aimed at enhancing the capacity of Bangladesh Police and strengthening relations between the police and the public.

The IGP highly praised the outgoing UNDP resident representative for his significant contributions to police reform and capacity building in Bangladesh Police. 

He welcomed UNDP’s interest in supporting the enhancement of police capabilities through training. 

The IGP also emphasized the importance of strengthening mutual cooperation between Bangladesh Police and UNDP.

Senior officials of Bangladesh Police were present at the meeting.
