
DHAKA, June 26, 2026 (BSS) - The Bangladesh Public Service Commission (PSC) has terminated the employment of one of its computer typists after he was caught red-handed while taking a proxy examination on behalf of another candidate.
The information was disclosed in an office order recently issued by the Administration-2 Branch of the PSC Secretariat.
The order said computer typist Md Limon was apprehended on June 1 at around 4:30 pm while impersonating another candidate in the practical examination for the post of Office Assistant-cum-Computer Typist conducted by the Department of Disaster Management at its Mohakhali office in Dhaka.
According to the order, Limon confessed to the offence before the court and, based on his confession and witness testimonies, was sentenced to 30 days' simple imprisonment under Sections 6(1) and 7(1) of the Mobile Court Act, 2009, in Mobile Court Case No. 05/16.
The order noted that Limon joined the PSC Secretariat on August 4, 2024, and had not yet completed his probationary period.
In accordance with Rules 6(1)(a) and 6(2)(a) of the Recruitment Rules, 2008, as well as the conditions of his appointment letter, his service has been terminated with effect from June 1, 2026, the order added.
