377 held in 24-hour crackdown across Dhaka

DHAKA, July 14, 2026 (BSS) - The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has arrested 377 people and filed 41 cases during a 24-hour operation across the capital.

According to the police, the arrests were made in raids carried out by its eight divisions and the Detective Branch (DB).

Mirpur Division recorded the highest number of arrests with 85, followed by Tejgaon with 64 and Wari with 55.

Police said they seized 3,030 yaba tablets, 55.23kg of cannabis and 1,200 bottles of phensedyl during the operations. 

Officers also recovered a private car, two microbuses, a lock-cutting machine, six mobile phones and Tk 330 in cash.
 
The detainees were arrested in separate operations across different police station areas in Dhaka. 

Legal proceedings are under way.
