DHAKA, July 16, 2026 (BSS) - At least 34 people were arrested in a special operation in Jatrabari area of the capital as part of ongoing police anti-crime drives.

The operation was conducted on Wednesday in different areas under Jatrabari Police Station, according to a statement issued by the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) on Thursday.

Police said the arrested persons included seven wanted in different criminal cases, three accused in previous cases and two arrested under outstanding warrants.

The remaining 22 people were detained through mobile court proceedings.

All the arrested persons have been sent to court, police said.

Authorities added that similar operations would continue to maintain law and order in the capital.
