Bangladesh will be an example of communal harmony: Mir Helal

CHATTOGRAM, July 16, 2026 (BSS)- State Minister for Land and Chattogram Hill Tracts Affairs Barrister Mir Mohammad Helal Uddin has said Bangladesh is poised to become a remarkable example of communal harmony in the future under the guidance of Prime Minister Tarique Rahman. 
 
He made the remark while addressing as the chief guest at the inauguration of the Rath Parikrama, organized by the Central Rath Yatra Celebration Committee at the pond side area of Nandankanan in the city today. 
Rishi Dham Adhipati presided over the inaugural ceremony while Tulsidham Mohant Shrimat Devdipananda Puri Maharaj was the main speaker.
 
Addressing the function city mayor Dr. Shahadat Hossain said historical chariot at Nandankanan has upheld its tradition by continuing to host chariot processions every year. 

“Presence of thousands of devotees today reaffirms that Bangladesh embodies a genuine non-communal spirit,” he added. 

He said influential individuals will not be allowed to grab the land of the pond bank where the chariot is situated.

Abu Sufian, MP, said a small section faction of people seeks to destabilize the nation under various pretexts. Nevertheless, individuals of all religions, castes, and communities in Bangladesh are secure under the leadership of BNP, he added. 

The central Rath Yatra event was inaugurated by Shri Harish Kumar, Assistant High Commissioner of the Indian Embassy in Chattogram. 
 
Chattogram Metropolitan Police Commissioner Hasan Md. Shawkat Ali, Trustee of the Hindu Religious Welfare Trust Deepak Kumar Palit, and President of the Central Rath Yatra Celebration Committee Hiranmoy Dhar among others addressed the function.
