BFSA orders market withdrawal of three food products over excess preservatives

DHAKA, July 16, 2026 (BSS) – The Bangladesh Food Safety Authority (BFSA) has ordered the immediate withdrawal of three food products from the market after finding that they contain excessive levels of preservatives considered harmful to human health.

According to a BFSA statement issued today, the affected products are ‘East Cake Pur Pitha Jam Filled (Intact)’ manufactured by East Cake International Food Limited, ‘East Baker Slice Bread Milk Jam Filled (Intact)’ produced by East Zibai International Food Limited, and ‘Arboting Food Slice Bread Mix Jam Filled (Intact)’ manufactured by Arboting Food Co. Limited.

The authority directed the three companies to immediately withdraw the products from the market and stop their distribution and sale.

The BFSA also advised consumers not to purchase or consume the specified food products.
