
DHAKA, July 16, 2026 (BSS) - The Prime Minister's Education Assistance Trust has warned that a fraud ring is attempting to obtain scholarship OTPs and passwords by falsely identifying themselves as the Scheme Director of its Integrated Scholarship Programme.
The Trust authorities have urged all Upazila and Thana Secondary Education Officers, heads of educational institutions, and other concerned stakeholders to remain vigilant to avoid such fraudulent activities.
The warning came in a notice issued by the office of the Integrated Scholarship Programme under the Prime Minister's Education Assistance Trust.
According to the notice, complaints have recently been received that a fraud group has been calling various individuals, falsely claiming to be the Scheme Director of the Prime Minister's Education Assistance Trust's Integrated Scholarship Programme and asking for OTPs, passwords, and other important information.
All concerned have been requested not to provide any information or OTP in response to such suspicious phone calls.
The notice stated that no officer or employee of the Prime Minister's Education Assistance Trust ever contacts Upazila or Thana Secondary Education Officers or heads of educational institutions to request any OTP or password.
It also instructed all Upazila and Thana Secondary Education Officers and heads of the relevant educational institutions not to disclose any OTP, password, or the personal and institutional information of scholarship recipients to anyone.
