Collective efforts crucial to protect environment and conserve biodiversity

RAJSHAHI, July 18, 2026 (BSS) - A seminar titled 'Wildlife Conservation and Our Responsibility' was held in Rajshahi with the aim of raising public awareness about wildlife conservation, protecting biodiversity, and environmental issues.

The seminar was organized by Bangladesh Animals Allies Volunteers (BAAV) and it was held today at the Conference Room of Rajshahi Nagar Bhaban.
 
The Chief Guest at the event was the Administrator of Rajshahi City Corporation, Md. Mahfuzur Rahman Riton. 

He said, "The role of wildlife is extremely important in maintaining the ecological balance. Along with government initiatives to conserve biodiversity, public awareness and active participation are also essential."
 
Special guests who spoke at the event included the Chief Veterinary Officer at Rajshahi University, Dr Hemayetul Islam Arif, and the Chairman of Save the Nature and Life, Md. Mizanur Rahman. 

They emphasized the importance of abiding by the law in wildlife conservation, protecting animal habitats, and developing environmentally friendly behavior.
 
Speakers at the seminar said that the youth must be more involved in protecting wildlife and nature. At the same time, they called for building a social movement to prevent illegal wildlife hunting and trafficking.

Representatives of various voluntary organizations, students, environmental activists, and conscious citizens participated in the event. 

The seminar emphasized increasing public engagement in wildlife conservation and taking coordinated initiatives for environmental protection.
