DHAKA, July 20, 2026 (BSS) - A joint eviction drive conducted by the Traffic-Wari Division of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) and the Dhaka South City
Corporation (DSCC) removed 16 illegally established shops from the Sayedabad Bus Terminal in the capital.
According to a DMP statement, the operation was led by an Executive Magistrate of the DSCC and targeted illegal roadside shops and vehicle repair
workshops that had occupied the terminal's main entrance and interior areas for a long time.
During the drive, authorities demolished a total of 16 illegal structures, clearing key areas of the terminal and restoring them for public use and the
smooth movement of passengers and vehicles.
Officials said the operation was part of ongoing efforts to improve traffic management and ensure orderly movement at major bus terminals across the
capital.
Similar joint eviction drives will continue in the public interest to keep transport hubs free from illegal encroachments, police confirmed.
