
KHULNA, July 21, 2026 (BSS) - Bangladesh Coast Guard (BCG) seized 30 kilograms of illegally hunted venison and detained a meat trader during a drive in the Nolian area of Dacope upazila in the Sundarbans.
The seized venison, estimated to be worth around Tk 66,000, was recovered during a raid conducted by a special team from the Nolian Coast Guard Outpost at around 2:00 pm on Monday, Coast Guard Headquarters Media Officer Lieutenant Commander Sabbir Alam Sujon said today.
Acting on a tip-off, the Coast Guard team carried out the drive in the Closure Para area under Nolian and detained Mehedi Hasan, 30, while he was transporting the illegally hunted venison.
The detainee and the seized venison were later handed over to the Nolian Forest Patrol Outpost for taking further legal action.
