MANIKGANJ, July 21, 2026 (BSS) - A man was killed and three others were 
injured in a head-on collision between a truck and an engine-driven auto- 
rickshaw on Hemayetpur-Manikganj Regional Highway today.

Office-in-Change (OC) of Singair Police Station Md Mazharul Islam said the 
accident occurred when a truck and an engine-run auto- rickshaw collided 
head-on in the area around 9 am, leaving one dead and injuring three others.

Locals rescued the injured and admitted them at Singair Upazila Health 
Complex while Singair Police took the body under their custody for sending to 
Manikganj Sadar 250-bed hospital for autopsy. 

The identity of the deceased could not be known immediately. 

The driver of the truck managed to flee with the vehicle after the accident. 
Police are trying to locate the ill-fated truck and its driver, OC Mazharul 
Islam added.
