CHATTOGRAM, July 21, 2026 (BSS) - CMP Commissioner Hasan Md. Shawkat Ali has directed all units to enhance their operations against theft, robbery, drug offenses, extortion, and youth gangs. 

Shawkat Ali conveyed these directives during his address as the president of the CMP's monthly welfare meeting for July 2026, held at the multipurpose shed of Dampara Police Lines in the city on Tuesday morning (July 21). During the meeting, the Police Commissioner emphasized that every CMP member must execute their responsibilities with integrity, commitment, and professionalism. 

He also highlighted the necessity for more effective measures to combat theft, robbery, drug-related crimes, extortion, and youth gangs to safeguard the city's residents. 

Additionally, the Police Commissioner recognized Constable Md. Zakir Hossain Joni for his accomplishments on the international stage. He received a certificate for serving as a referee at the 2nd Asian Para Throwball Championship-2026 held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Besides, he participated as a player in the 2nd South Asian Throwball Championship-2026 in Ranchi, Jharkhand, India, where he contributed to the Bangladesh team's achievement as the second runner-up. 

All Additional Police Commissioners, Deputy Police Commissioners, senior CMP officials, and police personnel from various ranks were present at the event.
