DHAKA, July 21, 2026 (BSS) - Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Md. Asaduzzaman today urged lawyers' organisations to work above political divisions for professional development, unity and welfare of lawyers.

He made the remarks while addressing the Summer Convention-2026 of Khulna Divisional Lawyers' Association and its 30th anniversary programme at the Supreme Court Bar Association auditorium.

The minister said such organisations should prioritise professional interests, mutual cooperation and humanitarian values instead of political identity.

He stressed the need for promoting unity, tolerance and reconciliation in society and creating opportunities for experience sharing and skill development among senior and young lawyers.

Asaduzzaman said the legal community has a vital role in establishing rule of law, human rights, democratic values and justice and called for upholding professional integrity and ethics.

Bangladesh Bar Council Vice-Chairman and Senior Advocate Zainul Abedin, Supreme Court Bar Association President Barrister A M Mahbub Uddin Khokon and other senior lawyers also addressed the programme.
