64 arrested in Motijheel, Jatrabari

DHAKA, Sept 5, 2026 (BSS) - Police arrested 64 people in separate anti-crime drives conducted in different areas in the capital's Motijheel Division, Jatrabari, on Friday.

Of them, 50 were arrested in various crime-prone areas under the Motijheel Division, while 14 others were detained in a special drive in Jatrabari, according to a Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) press release.

According to the Motijheel Division, the 50 arrests included five from Motijheel Police Station, 10 from Paltan, five from Sabujbagh, six from Khilgaon, eight from Rampura, nine from Shahjahanpur and seven from Mugda.

Meanwhile, Jatrabari police arrested 14 people during a special operation in different crime-prone areas of the police station.

Police said the drives were carried out on Friday as part of regular efforts to curb crime and maintain law and order in the capital.

The arrested individuals were subsequently produced before the relevant courts.
