BGB seizes smuggled goods worth TK 50 lakh in Feni border areas

FENI, Sept 5, 2026 (BSS) - Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) seized Indian 
smuggled goods worth around Taka 50 lakh in separate drives in the border 
areas of Fulgazi, Parshuram and Chhagalnaiya upazilas of the district this 
morning.

According to the BGB sources, the operations were conducted as part of 
regular drives to prevent drug trafficking and smuggling along the border.

During the raids, BGB members seized a large quantity of Indian smuggled 
goods, including sarees, spectacles, three-piece garments, medicines and 
timber. The estimated value of the seized goods is around Taka 50 lakh.

Commanding Officer of BGB-4 Feni Battalion Lieutenant Colonel M M Zillur 
Rahman said BGB remains vigilant, alert and active to prevent the spread of 
drugs and smuggling, thwart illegal entry, ensure overall border security and 
curb all forms of border-related crimes.

He said such operations and activities would continue in the future to ensure 
the security of the border.
